Union Special Hemming Service

We offer a chain stitch hemming service for newly purchased selvedge jeans. Please add this product to your jeans order. 

For 25oz jeans, please use the special 25oz hemming service.  For all other denim weights, use this hemming service.

Hemming is performed on a vintage Union Special 43200G machine manufactured in 1939. As the denim is passed through the machine, the inner and outer sides of the hem are offset with respect to each other. This, in addition to the elasticity of the chain stitch, allows for the roping effect when the hem is twisted after washing or soaking.

Please note that hemmed jeans are not returnable.

At this time, we are only offering our hemming service for new purchases made through our online store.  We do hem previously purchased Iron Heart jeans, but these must be unworn, unwashed and brought to our shop location in Hamburg. 

Please note that we only hem selvedge jeans, not chinos or other types of trousers, such as work or duck trousers.
